Bad Girls and Mean Women Songbook

Uke Hunt (awesome ukulele site) posted a link to this little book, Bad Girls and Mean Women Songbook, and seeing as I was brought up with my farther playing, 'Aboard the good ship Venus,' it more than piqued my curiosity.

Costing me only 12.50 delivered to my door I couldn't resist, so here I am eagerly awaiting delivery.

It says on the website, "Ooooolala... This is a very naughty songbook indeed! This little black book contains 10 songs, some dating back as far as the 1600's, that are so raunchy that they would make Snoop Dog blush. Each song has both the ukulele chords and the musical score. Also included are 2 recipes and 5 potions plus a fold-out ukulele chord chart.
WARNING: ADULT CONTENT!."

If you want your own copy just follow the link above.

Cheers
Stewart.

Song list, take 2, for the 28th of August.

Song list, take 2, for the 28th of August.

1/ Ob-La-De Ob-La-Da Page 183. Just a few suggestion that I hope will make playing the chorus a lot easier. Firstly if you play the G chord by barring across the first three strings on the 2nd fret and then use your index finger on the 2nd string 3rd fret and you have G.
Now when you need to change from G to Bm keep your pointer barred and use your ring
finger to reach the 4th string 4th fret and you have Bm. Then from Bm to Em you keep the barre again and move your index and ring finger onto the 2nd and 3rd strings to form the Em. Confused? I hope not. Play around with it and it should make it sense.
2/ Home among the gum trees. Page 110. The chorus on this isn't written very well but if you give each chord two beats or a down up down up strum for each chord it plays better.
(right here is when my computer died)

Beginners night

Beginners night is on again tomorrow night at Nunns Print Music and Repairs shop, 217 Ruthven street (Thursday). $5.00pp.
We might look at some new strumming patterns and expand our chord vocabulary in the Key of C. If you're having trouble with the G7 chord then I learnt something that might help with that too. See you there Cheers.
